FAIRY RING (Mushroom Fungi)
Basidiomycetes
Fairy Ring (lovely sounding but
not fun to live with) Has a totally different look than the other
diseases with the appearance of a darker green amid the unaffected
grass and surrounding an inner cobwebbed dead grass. These fungi
may belong to a list of at least 50 and is a consistent management
problem of trying to get water under the fungus and constant
mowing to help provide some removal of the webbing. All grasses
can be affected. Quartenary ammonium compound is the chemical
control used.
