| Diseases are generally
caused by fungi which are encouraged by high humidity
(Coastal foggy areas are a good representation) areas of
shade that don’t get to dry out during the day, thatch
conditions which hold in moisture without allowing water
to pass on through into the soil, damp cooler areas like
the upper parts of the south and snow areas. |

Wet lawns late
in the afternoon and shady areas that don’t get a chance to dry
off also encourage these conditions.
Fungi are parasitic
and live on the plant material itself and healthy and
well-maintained lawns don’t usually invite these conditions.
Stress through climate changes, irregular or incorrect mowing,
incorrect fertilization, incorrect watering and choice of variety
can all lead to these problems. These conditions are as follows:
